BEST romantic proposal i've heard

Congratulations...
This has to be the best proposal ever and many of my friends and I were moved beyond words.
So I'd like to share this and may it inspire someone who's planning and just not sure what to do.
Be creative, original and make it unforgettable.
Shoot for the stars.

4/16/2010 How Rashida & Adrienne got engaged...

How can I put the most amazing and beautiful day of my life into a few paragraphs?!
Well...I will try my best! lol

It was two days after my birthday and we were headed to New York for a phenomenal weekend at Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts. I flew in from Chicago and Adrienne was flying in from Miami. When I got into New York I called Adrienne because I knew she would be late meeting me at the hotel (as usual), she assured me that she would be there to meet me (lie!). When I arrived at the hotel (with my sister) the hotel clerk, with a HUGE smile on his face, handed me a small envelope with a flower attached. I'm thinking ‘This is excellent customer service!’ ;-) I opened the envelope and to my surprise it's from my Beloved. The card stated the following:

Don this flower in your hair,
Though to your beauty it doesn’t compare.
Go upstairs and drop your shit,
This is the first clue to your Birthday Gift.

As you can imagine I am bubbling with excitement! I leave my sister at the front desk and race upstairs to my room. Inside my beautiful hotel room, there is another card on the bed that read:

Put on some sexy or comfortable clothes.
Where the night takes you, only the clues know.
Hurry up and get down stairs,
There’s a car waiting to take you there.

That was all I needed to read! I snatched my clothes off and put on something sexy and called my sister to tell her what the card said, and told her to meet me downstairs. She played her "role" as if she didn't know what was happening. I later found out that she knew for months! lol. I met her downstairs and waited for my car to arrive. All of a sudden a friend of ours, Lia, walked in wearing a black suit/white shirt/black glasses and holding a sign that read “Carter.” I immediately ran over to hug her and she acted like she did not know who I was! lol. I was a little taken aback at first then I realized she was in “character.” I must say, she deserves an Oscar for her role as "driver." She was so good that throughout the night I forgot that I knew her! I asked about her family and where she lived, etc!

Anyway...where was I? Oh! Lia escorted my sister and I to a pearl white Chrysler 300 Adrienne rented. Then she drove us to an amazing bakery called Magnolia. When we arrived she gave me an order number and tells me to walk directly to the front of the line. I was a little leery since the line was so long that people were out the door, but I followed instructions and walked to the front of the line. The cashier gave me a funny look for walking to the front of the line but when I told her my name and gave her the order number her face just lit up! She gave me a big box of beautiful cupcakes with an envelope attached that read:

The sweetest cakes, only the best for my best;
But, you might get thirsty…is that a hint to what’s next?
Give this address to the driver, she’ll know the best route.
It’s smooth and mellow, yet a celebration in your mouth!

Now, the driver takes me to a liquor store and tells me to just go in and give the manager my name. So I walk in and behind the counter is an older woman and a young man that I assumed was her son because they looked just alike. I announced myself with confidence (giggle) and even their faces lit up like the sun. I realized at that moment, EVERYONE loves LOVE! They had no idea who I was but they were a part of something so beautiful they couldn't help but burst with pride. The young man wrapped up a bottle of champagne in beautiful gold wrapping paper while the woman just stared at me smiling. They spoke little English but we communicated that day with our smiles and our hearts. After he wrapped up the champagne he handed me another envelope that read:

You’re almost there, but guess what awaits?!
Your Beloved, ADRIENNE, and one of your favorite plates!
A beach in Mexico: food, fun, and senoritas…
Just go to the bar, and order a Margarita.

I was so excited. I STILL had not seen her since I arrived so I was looking forward to seeing her at the next stop....or so I thought! I arrived at the restaurant and right there behind the bar was a margarita glass with another envelope! The card read:

Just turn around and there she is!
Waiting to give you your BIRTHDAY GIFT!!!

I turn around all excited to give my baby the best suga’ ever....but to my discovery it's only Driver Lia with another card! lol. This card reads:

HAHAHAHAHA!!!
You should have seen your face! WHEW!!
Go back outside and get in the car,
Just trust the driver, she got you this far.

I JUST had to giggle as well. She got me good! I get back in the car and Lia drives me to Central Park and hands me a map, and at the end of the map is where I would meet Adrienne...finally! lol. So, I begin my walk with my cupcakes, champagne, and map of my journey. I was walking deep into the park and I thought I was lost until I saw these beautiful rose petals on the ground. I said "Hey, I'm a Goddess so these rose petals MUST be for me!"

So I followed the petals into this amazing gazebo where my honey was waiting for me hold a beautiful bouquet of flowers. She had been there waiting for me all day! There were even geese waiting around the gazebo for me! lol. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking! After a very long embrace she opens and pours the champagne in glasses she brought. She even had sliced strawberries and added them to the champagne. She sang happy birthday, then we ate a couple of cupcakes which were so delicious! Now since it was right after my birthday I assumed this was all for my birthday surprise. I was so content with the cupcakes! (giggle) After a few minutes of chit-chat and eating she begins to read the most beautiful poem, which she wrote for me. It was phenomenal! After the poem she gets on one knee, and asks me to marry her, and puts a rock on my finger. I cried my fake eyelashes off! lol.

So as you can imagine I had THE proposal of the century!!

There are no words to describe the magnitude of our love; what we share is so profound that it spans nations. Our transcendent love is evident in our laughter, our language,  and in our presence.
We have never been more in love than we are today. After a short engagement, we have decided that we have found a love that we can't live without. People say we look different: there's a glow, a bigger smile, an underlying something... Our answer: Thank you, it's true.

Here's the poem.
Alphabet
There are not yet letters in the phonetic alphabet to devise the words to describe how much I love you.
I searched Webster’s Dictionary, and the Thesaurus, and still I can’t find the words. So I am convinced that the words don’t exist.
Maybe this kind of love doesn’t exist. The kind of love that makes you forget to eat and forget how to fall asleep. The kind of love so profound that it makes you use words like forever and always.
The love that transcends time and space because when I’m with you it seems as if time stands still and  the earth stops turning;  and that can’t be real so maybe  this kind of love does not really exist.
Maybe this is the love of fairy tales; that happily ever after love. The love that has you on a euphoric high that never ends, the kind of love that there are no words for except, I love you.  And it’s only “I love you” because the words you really want to say escape you.
This love, the love that makes me feel both vulnerable and safe at the same time, it must be imaginary.
But when I look into your eyes what I see is real: I see God, I see sincerity, I see love, I see you.
                                 -Adrienne
